Staten Island HS football: QB Anthony D’Acunto, superb defense fuel 2nd-half comeback as St. Peter’s tops Hayes

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — Little by little, you could see an increase in confidence by St. Peter’s as its game vs. CHSFL AAA opponent Cardinal Hayes grew older.

But, perhaps, there was no better example than late in the third period when quarterback Anthony D’Acunto took it upon himself to call an audible at a pivotal moment of the game.
