VERNON PARISH, La. (KALB) - On October 18, Vernon Parish Sheriff’s Office asked the public to be on the lookout for Richard Callier, 72, of Vernon Parish.
Callier was hunting near Camp Baker Road, but has not returned. He reportedly called 911 earlier that day and said he was lost. VPSO said his phone then went dead.
His phone was pinged during the 911 call, so VPSO deputies and Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries Agents have responded to that location.
Both agencies have also reportedly launched drones to search the area. Meanwhile, K9’s and deputies are also searching the area on foot.
VPSO asked for anyone who may have seen Callier to contact them at (337) 238-1311.
