LAFAYETTE, La. (KLFY) - A cold front will bring showers and thunderstorms to the area overnight. We will see passing downpours through midnight before a line of stronger storms arrives after 1 a.m. This line will pass through by 5 a.m. and could contain severe storms capable of producing damaging wind gusts and a tornado or two. Make sure you have a way to get warnings in case they are issued!
Sunday will see clearing conditions once the front pushes east of the area. Temperatures will only reach the lower 80s in the afternoon with bright sunshine. Winds will be strong and gust between 15 and 20 miles per hour throughout the day from the north. Sunday night, temperatures drop into the lower 50s under clear skies.
