Just before midnight Friday, Superstition Fire and Medical District crews responded to a two-vehicle collision with fire involvement on eastbound U.S. Highway 60 near Peralta.
Units arrived to find one vehicle fully engulfed and multiple patients ejected, according to a release from SFMD.
A total of four patients were involved. Three were pronounced deceased at the scene, and one patient was transported in critical condition to a trauma center, where they later succumbed to their injuries.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash. Eastbound US 60 was closed for an extended period.
