Vihaan.AI, a programme launched by Air India in 2022, is a modernisation initiative aimed at upgrading 67 legacy narrow-body and wide-body aircraft. The airline began the retrofitting process in September 2024, starting with its Airbus A320neo fleet.

To date, 26 out of the 27 A320neos sent for retrofitting have been completed. The final aircraft is currently undergoing upgrades and is expected to rejoin the airline’s fleet by the end of October.
