PHILADELPHIA — Authorities have discovered human remains in a shallow grave behind an abandoned school in Germantown, as part of the ongoing search for 23-year-old Kada Scott, who has been missing for two weeks. The remains were found on Saturday following a specific anonymous tip that led police to the area around 10 a.m. First Deputy Commissioner John Stanford confirmed that the remains appear to be those of a female and are currently being examined by the medical examiner's office for identification.

Scott was last seen on October 4, when she left her job at an assisted living facility. Her mother reported her missing the following day. Police have expressed heightened concern for Scott's safety due to troubling phone calls she received prior to her disappearance. "In the days leading up to her disappearance, Ms. Scott related to her family and friends that an unknown individual or person had been harassing her via phone," said Philadelphia police Capt. John Craig.

Keon King, 21, has been arrested and charged with kidnapping in connection with Scott's case. Authorities believe he was the last person in contact with her shortly after she left work. King is currently being held on $2.5 million bail. He is also facing charges related to a previous kidnapping case from earlier this year, which had been dropped due to the victim's failure to appear in court.

During the search for Scott, police recovered several items of evidence, including her debit card and a phone case, from the area around the abandoned school. Investigators are still working to determine the nature of the relationship between Scott and King.

Scott's family remains hopeful for her safe return. Her father, Kevin Scott, expressed his determination to stay positive, stating, "It's been difficult, extremely difficult. We keep faith that she's OK and she's going to be with us as soon as possible."

As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information related to the case to contact them. The search for Scott has drawn significant public attention, and authorities are committed to uncovering the circumstances surrounding her disappearance and the recent discovery of remains.
