Komets forward Austin Magera scored a game-winning goal with just seven seconds left in regulation to register a 6-5 win over the Kalamazoo Wings on Saturday.
After a shot by fellow forward Kirill Tyutyayev deflected off Wings goaltender Hunter Vorva, Magera pushed the loose puck in the crease into the net for his first goal as a Komet.
Kalamazoo scored four times in the third period, including twice from forward Colin Bilek in his three-goal game to begin his tenure with the Wings. Forward Matthew Brown of the Komets had two goals. Both players also had an assist.
The score by Magera secured goaltender Samuel Jonsson a 25-save win in his first professional start in the US. Vorva finished with 23 saves.
