Hawaii freshman outside hitter Cha’lei Reid put down a match-high 18 kills and the Rainbow Wahine volleyball team snapped a four-match losing streak with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-21 win over UC San Diego today at LionTree Arena in La Jolla, Calif.
Senior Bri Gunderson added nine kills in 12 swings with three blocks and Miliana Sylvester and Tyla Reese Mane each had seven kills for Hawaii (7-12, 3-5 Big West), which improved to 10-0 all-time against the Tritons (4-16, 2-6).
Hawaii hit a season-high .385 and committed only nine hitting errors.
Victoria Leyva had a team-high 11 digs and setter Adriana Arquette finished with 30 assists, eight digs, three blocks and a kill.
Leyva and Mane each had had two of UH’s six aces.
