Meerut police have cracked the case of a Rs 30 lakh theft from the home of a local textile merchant, only to find the merchant's own wife as the mastermind behind the crime. The motive: funding her brother’s life-saving kidney treatment.

The theft took place on October 15 at the residence of Piyush Mittal, a cloth merchant. The complaint reported the theft of Rs 50,000 in cash and jewelry valued at approximately Rs 30 lakh.

Following the complaint, police launched a thorough investigation involving the analysis of dozens of CCTV and surveillance footages. Meerut Electricity Minister Ayush Vikram, while addressing the press, confirmed the breakthrough in the case and the arrest of all accused.

The investigation led to the arrest of four individuals including merchant's wife Pooja Mittal
