HUNTINGTON — The Marshall football team got the better of its second double-overtime game of the season on Saturday in a 40-37 win over Texas State at Joan C. Edwards Stadium.

The homecoming crowd of 27,533 was treated to the most recent rendition of the cardiac Thundering Herd.

After Marshall took a 27-24 lead with 1:14 left in regulation, Herd coach Tony Gibson called a timeout on a game-tying Bobcats field goal attempt that would’ve been a miss if he could tell the future.

After Texas State tied it with the 50-yard re-try, a second-overtime 1-yard touchdown from Marshall's Jo’Shon Barbie walked the game off.
