LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — A concert held Saturday celebrated the Little Rock family behind Gladys McFadden and the Loving Sisters, a gospel group that has been inspiring the music world for over half a century.
Surviving members of the historic group were honored at Greater Second Baptist Church on Geyer Springs Road.
Organizers said the event was a chance to pay homage to true pioneers while they are still living.
“They thought of this to do in my lifetime, rather than wait until my burial service, so at least I can hear it, see it and enjoy it, so that’s what I’m grateful for,” founding member Gladys McFadden said.
