GRAND FORKS — UND’s power play converted at an elite clip in its series sweep of St. Thomas last weekend.

The unit went 4-for-6. It seemed that, despite the production lost in the offseason, the Fighting Hawks had picked up right where they left off the year prior. In 2024-25, they converted 26.4% of their chances, ranking No. 5 nationally.

But water found its level in UND’s series split with Minnesota.

The Hawks went 1-for-11 with an extra skater during their two-game series at Ralph Engelstad Arena. The only successful conversion was an empty-net goal from Mac Swanson with nine seconds left in Game 1.

With a goaltender in the net, UND’s power play was 0-for-10.
