A man will spend 28-30 years behind bars for kidnapping a 7-year-old girl, strangling her and throwing her off a bridge into a Massachusetts lake in 2017, prosecutors said Friday.

Joshua Hubert, 43, of Worcester, had been found guilty last month of two counts of attempted murder, one count of strangulation and one count of kidnapping a child. He was found not guilty on two charges of aggravated child rape.

Hubert was sentenced to serve two consecutive 14-15-year prison sentences for the two attempted murder convictions, and 4-5 years in prison for the strangulation conviction that will run concurrently, the Worcester County District Attorney's Office said.
