PINEVILLE, La. (KALB) - Long time basketball coach Gene Rushing is being recognized for the legacy that he left behind at Louisiana Christian University.

On Saturday, students and alumni gathered inside H.O. West Basketball Arena to celebrate the legendary coach. The Cenla Chamber of Commerce also held a ribbon cutting to officially dedicate the ‘Gene Rushing Court.’

Rushing lead the Wildcats as their Head Men’s Basketball Coach from 1986 to 2015. In his 29 year tenure he held a record of 335-431.

Rushing also receives the Legacy Award presented by president Dr. Mark Johnson.
