SAN JOSE, Calif. — A goalie duel against his former puck-stopping partner brought the best out of Tristan Jarry as he earned a shutout win over the San Jose Sharks.

Jarry made 31 saves here Saturday as the Penguins ended a winning road trip with a 3-0 victory against Alex Nedeljkovic and the Sharks at SAP Center. The Penguins went 2-1-0 on this California trip and improved to 4-2-0 on the young season.

Jarry and Nedeljkovic posed for a picture during pregame warmups, the friends and former teammates flashing wide grins through their masks. They shared the net in Pittsburgh for two years before Nedeljkovic was traded to San Jose in July.

But when the puck dropped, they both seemed determined to one-up each other.
