KARUR: TVK has transferred 20 lakh each as relief to the families of the 41 people who lost their lives in the stampede during party founder Vijay 's public rally at Velusamypuram in Karur on Sept 27. In a statement, the party said the relief amount has been deposited in the bank accounts of 38 families in five districts. Tamil Nadu govt has already provided 10 lakh each as compensation to the families. Vijay would visit the families as soon as permission is granted by authorities, it said. The stampede is currently under investigation by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) following directions from the Supreme Court.
