A headmaster was taken into police custody on Sunday following allegations of inappropriate conduct with a fourth-grade student in the Jagatsinghpur district of Odisha.

The incident reportedly occurred inside the government primary school in Purunagada in Jagatsinghpur.

As per reports, the matter came to light after the student’s family filed a complaint at Jagatsinghpur district police station on Saturday.

Following the complaint, the police detained the accused headmaster, identified as Prashant Mahapatra, and initiated questioning regarding the allegations.

Authorities reported that the student was called to the police station late on Saturday night to provide her statement.
