A police dog unit vehicle was badly damaged following an early morning crash with a car in Greater Manchester.

The crash occurred at around 5.50am on Saturday morning (October 18) in Rochdale town centre, Greater Manchester Police said.

Images of the crash reveal the vehicle belonged to GMP's dog unit. The Manchester Evening News understands no dogs were hurt.

According to GMP, there were no serious injuries reported as a result of the crash. No arrests have been made, the M.E.N. understands.
