Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Director of Women for the Southern Region Maria Mainja on Saturday cheered the family of late veteran broadcaster Hope Bemberezi Chisanu in Machinjiri Township in Blantyre.

Mainja was accompanied by Joseph Mandala, Regional Governor for DPP wing in United States of America and some top officials in the party.

The fierce woman who championed the comeback bid for President Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika also donated assorted items to the family.

Speaking after the ceremony Mainja said Chisanu served the party well during his life time.

“Hope Chisanu sacrificed everything in serving the party and Professor Arthur Peter Mutharika and we thought it wise to come here to cheer his family, celebrate his life,” said Maninja while promising to fulfil the drea
