ARIZONA, USA — Governor Katie Hobbs has declared a state of emergency for Gila County and Maricopa County following storm damage caused by a surge in tropical activity from Hurricane Priscilla and Tropical Storm Raymond.
The storms on Oct 13 caused significant damage, including displaced families and damaged homes and businesses.
"The governor’s declaration unlocks critical state resources to support ongoing response efforts and aid recovery efforts for communities devastated by the disaster," a news release from Hobbs' office said.
Those resources include $200,000 from the Governor’s Emergency Fund. Recovery efforts utilizing the released funds will be coordinated by the Arizona Division of Emergency Management.
