Former Scotland rugby player Chris Paterson officially launched the 2025 Scottish Poppy Appeal at Lady Haig’s Poppy Factory in Edinburgh.

Paterson is now a specialist coach and TV commentator, and he is known for his points scoring record which he still holds. He scored 809 points for Scotland during his international career earning 109 caps.

He said he was proud to help launch this year’s appeal as he has long supported the charity Poppyscotland. He hosts the annual Remembrance memorial at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

Chris said: “Life in the Armed Forces comes with unique challenges during and after service, and Poppyscotland is there every step of the way – helping our Armed Forces community and their families whenever and wherever they need support.
