West Midlands Fire Service has issued a 999 message amid the huge Amazon Web services internet outage. It has impacted Amazon Web Services. which includes a number of platforms, including Snapchat, Roblox and Lloyds Bank.

The local fire service has said that while 999 calls are not being impacted, it could impact some of its planned events. It has issued a community alert on social media, which has been shared by West Midlands Police .

The alert reads: ''We are aware of, and closely monitoring, a widespread issue affecting several websites and apps. Please be assured that the 999 system is not affected - we are still here for you in an emergency.''
