An LGBTQ advocacy group and a Reformed Christian political advocacy organization have been granted intervener status on opposite sides of a court case involving controversial bus advertising in Hamilton.

The recent decision from the Court of Appeal for Ontario to allow Egale Canada and the Association for Reformed Political Action (ARPA) to participate in the civil suit sets the stage for a Charter of Rights case that pits the safety of the transgender community against freedom of speech.
