Nearly midway into the 2025 NFL season, one team sits alone atop the NFC standings at 5-1: the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Tampa Bay's faced injuries along the offensive line, wide receiver group and at running back. First-year offensive coordinator Josh Grizzard's orchestrated the league's sixth-best scoring offense despite missing Tristan Wirfs, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin and Bucky Irving for multiple games.

The Buccaneers are playing – and winning – close games this season. Their five wins have come by a combined 20 points; their lone loss came in a 31-25 decision to the defending champion Philadelphia Eagles in Week 4. They're on the road to face one of the other top teams in the conference in Week 7: Detroit.

The Lions bounced back from a season-opening loss to the Green Bay Packers to rattle off four straight wins over the Bears, Ravens, Browns and Bengals. Quarterback Jared Goff leads the NFL in completion percentage (75.9%) and passing touchdowns (14). Despite losing offensive coordinator Ben Johnson this offseason, Detroit's No. 2 in scoring offense entering Week 7.

Detroit came up short in prime time in Week 6 against the Kansas City Chiefs on the road. They'll look to make up for that at home against Tampa Bay in Week 7.
