QUINCY, Fla. (WCTV) - Quincy Police were recently awarded $25,000 in grant funding to enhance the police department’s ability to respond to public safety incidents, according to QPD.
Some of those incidents include missing person searches, disaster responses, crime scene documentation and traffic crash investigations, QPD wrote in a press release Monday.
Specifically, the grant was received to support the purchase an Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) drone allocated earlier this year, per the press release.
Police said the drone represents an advancement in the department’s ongoing efforts to improve awareness during critical incidents.
