QUINCY — Quincy Regional Crime Stoppers wants to help parents, educators and community leaders recognize and respond to the growing threat of violent extremism targeting young people online.

A free presentation, “Violent Extremists and Our Youth,” will take place at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Quincy Holiday Inn, 4821 Oak.

Presented in partnership with the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force, the session will explore how extremist groups use social media and gaming platforms to influence and recruit youth. Attendees will gain insight into the signs of online radicalization, the platforms most used and practical strategies to protect children and teens from the dangerous influences.
