Families packed the lot outside the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office on Friday, Oct. 17 for the fourth annual Donuts with Deputies event — a fall favorite that’s grown bigger every year since it began in 2022.

The two-hour event featured a trunk-or-treat, free donuts and cider, yard games and the chance to explore emergency vehicles up close. An estimated 800 people attended last year, but organizers said this year’s turnout appeared even larger.

More than 30 vendors and community organizations handed out candy alongside first responders from multiple agencies, including Tri-County EMS, First Responder Therapy Dogs and the Port Huron Township Fire Department.

Sheriff Mat King said the event continues to be about more than just Halloween fun.
