The Bamfield Main Road is set to re-open Oct. 24, but some additional closures will follow.

Due to recent rainfall, work on the unstable slope has had to pause for the safety of the workers. Because of the several day pause and removal of trees that may be dangerous to drivers work will continue past the road's official re-opening.

Starting Monday, Oct. 27 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be daily closures on the road which will allow crews to finish work on making the road safe to travel. Those daily closures are expected to last for around a week.

Single-lane alternating traffic and full road closures will both be implemented while work goes on, the ministry says it will prioritize single-lane alternating traffic to allow people to continue using the road where possible.
