This week's Orionid meteors display is what astronomers consider to be among the most beautiful and bright meteor showers of the year. And the pending early morning celestial event won't cost you anything but a little sleep.

The Orionid meteor shower reliably occurs each fall when Earth passes through the densest part of the debris path of the famous Halley's comet, which also happens to produce the ETA Aquarids in May.
