BEAUMONT, Texas — Country music star and Beaumont native Mark Chesnutt is recovering at home after suffering a medical emergency before a scheduled concert Thursday night.

According to a post shared on Chesnutt’s official Facebook page, the 62-year-old country artist experienced a medical issue prior to his show on October 16.

Chesnutt’s publicist, Don Murry Grubbs, told Classic Country Music Sunday morning that the singer has been released from the hospital.

“Mark was released from hospital yesterday. He’s home in Beaumont, Texas and will see his doctor first thing Monday morning for testing comparisons,” Grubbs said via email. “After they get the low sodium and high blood pressure under control, he’ll be good to go.”
