LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — Daylight saving time will end Sunday, Nov. 2, as clocks fall back one hour at 2 a.m.
The overnight transition between Saturday, Nov. 1 and Sunday will move the 2 a.m. hour back to 1 a.m., giving residents an extra hour of weekend sleep.
The practice became federal law in 1966 but has faced challenges from Nevada lawmakers and others nationally in recent years.
In March, Nevada state assemblymember Selena La Rue called daylight saving time a public health issue.
“When they change the clocks there is an increase in heart attacks, strokes, car accidents and even anxiety,” La Rue Hatch said.
Arizona and Hawaii do not observe daylight saving time changes. Around 30 states, including Nevada, have recently considered legislation to exclude themselves from the time chan
