Indiana Michigan Power plans to begin a major $266 million project in 2027.
The project is intended to strengthen the electric grid across St. Joseph, LaPorte, Starke, Pulaski, and White counties.
The Olive-Reynolds Transmission Line Rebuild will replace about 68 miles of high-voltage lines between substations in New Carlisle and Reynolds, relocate two miles of line near Monon and upgrade the Olive Substation.
The company says the upgrades will replace 1950s-era equipment with modern BOLD lattice towers—designed to boost reliability and support the region’s growing energy needs.
Construction is expected to begin in winter 2027 and wrap up by spring 2031.
