CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - A man was arrested in connection to a that happened outside a popular Charlotte bar over the weekend.

The shooting happened in the parking lot at Coyote Joe’s off Wilkinson Boulevard in west Charlotte just before 1:30 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 20.

A criminal affidavit said Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers were working at the bar in an off-duty capacity when they heard several shots fired. They ran to the parking lot and found 41-year-old Jason Lamar Neal with a gunshot wound. Police said they immediately began trying to help, but Neal died at the scene.

The affidavit said two witnesses volunteered to be interviewed by police.
