Quinshon Judkins has quickly run his way into the Offensive Rookie of the Year conversation. Despite missing the first week, the Browns running back keeps on churning out impressive performances for a Cleveland team that sorely needs playmakers on offense.
Judkins had a career-high three touchdowns in Cleveland's blowout win over the Miami Dolphins in Week 7. One of the three TDs came as he recovered a bobbled "wildcat" snap and darted into the end zone, giving the Browns a commanding 17-3 lead. On a day where gale-force winds and rain made throwing the ball difficult, Judkins blew the visiting Dolphins away.
The No. 36 overall pick in the draft finished the game with 84 yards on 25 carries and the three TDs. Judkins now has eclipsed the 80-yard rushing mark in four of Cleveland's last five games. During that time, the Browns have had a rotating cast of offensive tackles due to injuries, as well as a switch to fellow rookie QB Dillon Gabriel. Judkins ranks 6th in the league in rushing yards per game entering the Monday night games in Week 7, at 77.8. He surpassed No. 6 overall pick Ashton Jeanty of the Raiders as the leading rookie rusher on Sunday, despite Jeanty playing an extra game.
Judkins' decisive rushing and impressive vision and balance have made him an immediate force in the NFL.
