The federal government is moving forward with a criminal charge against a former Harker Heights High School custodian who is facing prison time after being accused of entering the U.S. illegally by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, or ICE.

The government filed its initial complaint against Ofelia Negrete-Arriaga, 57, on Oct. 2, alleging that she illegally entered the country at Eagle Pass and remained in the U.S. until Sept. 29, when a “concerned person” made a report against her.

“Defendant Ofelia Negrete-Arriaga, an alien, was found in the city of Killeen...through an inquiry by the Killeen Independent School District Police Department after a concerned person reported Negrete for possible fraud,” according to the one-page complaint. “KISDPD contacted ICE ERO (Enforcement and R
