INDIANAPOLIS -- Officials with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department are investigating after a woman was found dead inside a hotel room on the east side of Indianapolis.

At around 10:23 a.m. on Saturday, officers were dispatched to a hotel in the 2300 block of N. Post Road on a death investigation. When officers arrived, they found an unresponsive woman in a hotel room. The woman, identified as 36-year-old Karissa Ramsey, was pronounced dead on scene.

After an examination by the Marion County Coroner's Office on Monday, Ramsey's manner of death was ruled a homicide.

Officials with IMPD said this incident remains under investigation by the department's homicide office. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact the office at (317) 327-3475.
