The Waverly-Shell Rock girls rugby team won their second straight state title in dominant fashion on Sunday, October 21 at Southeast Polk High School. The Go-Hawks finished 3-0 at the state tournament as they now turn their attention to nationals.
The Go-Hawks outscored their their opponents 109-0 across their three tournament matches. With that performance, the Go-Hawks also outscore their opponents 618-22 across the entire season.
In their first match of the day, the Go-Hawks cruised to a 45-0 victory against Cedar Rapids Washington. The Go-Hawks had previously beaten Washington 48-0 in their season opener on September 8 and 46-0 on October 6 in Mason City.
