Homeless services nonprofit strikes lease-to-own deal with NWEA for seven-story property long left vacant

Portland’s nonprofit sector is seeing a shift in how organizations approach their long-term real estate strategies, with Central City Concern’s planned acquisition of the Everett Building in Old Town Chinatown serving as a recent example of this trend. The homeless services nonprofit has entered into a lease-to-own agreement for the seven-story building at 121 N.W. Everett Street, according to the Portland Business Journal. The 160,000-square-foot property, which has sat largely vacant since 2023, will become the consolidated home for several of Central City Concern’s administrative operations starting this December.
