ACT Independent Senator David Pocock spent a fraction of the $1.7 million it cost to win his seat in 2022 to retain it at the May federal election.
The former Wallabies captain - who for the first time beat ACT Labor Senator and Finance Minister Katy Gallagher to the first of the ACT's two Senate seats - spent a little more than $550,000 from more than 2000 individual donors on his re-election campaign, The Canberra Times can reveal.
The independent senator did not receive any donations from Climate 200 for his re-election campaign after receiving $648,546 cash and $207,836 worth of in-kind support from the political donations aggregator in 2022.
