Today’s release of new software betas including iOS 26.1 beta 4 and more , brings more new settings for Apple’s Liquid Glass design on iPhone and iPad. In iOS 26 beta 3 the effect was scaled back a bit.

A new setting lets you select from Clear or Tinted. “Choose your preferred look for Liquid Glass. Clear makes the effect more transparent, revealing more of the content beneath. Tinted increases opacity and adds extra contrast for a bolder appearance,” explains Apple.

Liquid Glass has been criticized for making it too hard to see notifications depending on your wallpaper. Now there’s an option to essentially neuter Liquid Glass, in what looks to be a way to cater to people complaining about the new design.
