LIMA, Wis. -- A woman died on Monday following a head-on collision in the Town of Lima, according to the Rock County Sheriff's Office.

Several agencies responded to the area of E County Highway N at 8 a.m. An investigation revealed a 56-year-old Whitewater woman was driving a passenger car on westbound County Highway N. A 53-year-old Janesville man was eastbound driving an SUV. The westbound car crossed into the eastbound lane, resulting in a head-on collision.

There were no other occupants in either vehicle. Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The driver of the passenger car was pronounced dead on scene, and the operator of the SUV was treated for non-life-threatening injuries at a local hospital.
