It’s no secret that Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze’s seat is red hot after starting conference play 0-4 for the third straight season.
On Monday, respective athletic directors from Florida State and Wisconsin, amid their struggles this season, released “support statements” regarding their head coaches. Of course, this comes a day after Florida head coach Billy Napier was relieved of his duties as the Gators’ head man, and just weeks after multiple other Power Four head coaches were shown the door.
Freeze was asked during his weekly press conference on Monday if the same statement from Auburn athletic director John Cohen would mean something to him in his future endeavors as the Tigers’ head coach.
“That would be huge,” Freeze said. “It would make everyone feel a lot better, for sure.”
