A federal judge last week rejected a last-ditch effort by fair- housing groups to revive their seven-year-old lawsuit against Bank of America .

This summer, Maryland U.S. District Judge Stephanie Gallagher ruled the National Fair Housing Alliance and around 20 local organizations did not have standing to sue Bank of America over its maintenance of homes in Black and Hispanic neighborhoods.

On Oct. 16, Gallagher rejected the groups’ request to file an amended complaint.

The lawsuit began in 2018 after an investigation by the NFHA found the bank had failed to maintain and market homes in minority neighborhoods on which it had foreclosed during the 2008 financial crisis.
