CLEVELAND, Ohio — When Team USA and Canada meet in Cleveland for the first game of their 2025 women’s hockey Rivalry Series , Northeast Ohio will have a bigger role than just being the venue.

Cleveland Heights native and defender Laila Edwards is one of the 10 players at her position to make the roster for the four-game series, which starts at Rocket Arena on Nov. 6 at 7 p.m. Eastern.

Edwards, who plays her college hockey at Wisconsin, has been on the last two USA teams at the IIHF World Championships.

Edwards and the U.S. won gold in 2025, and she was named tournament MVP in 2024 despite the U.S. claiming silver.

Two former Ohio State players are also on the U.S. roster in Emma Peschel and Joy Dunne.
