Blue Sox Developments wants to transform what was once the country's oldest operating correctional centre into an entertainment precinct offering guest accommodation in the former cells of some of the most notorious criminals.

It plans to build a 55-room hotel outside the colonial walls, with some small interior buildings and cells removed to make way for a function space, wellness centre and restaurant.
