Winnipeg police are warning residents about a high-risk sex offender who has been released from custody and is expected to live in the city.
Thirty-year-old Sheldon Nelson Flett was released from Milner Ridge Correctional Centre on October 20 after serving part of his sentence for several offences, including possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a prohibited device or ammunition, identity fraud, and multiple breaches of court orders.

Police say Flett is considered at high risk to reoffend in a sexual or sexually violent manner against females, including both youth and adults. He will remain under probation supervision until October 2026 and is subject to a lifetime weapons ban.
