WASHINGTON — Athletic shoe company On is facing a class action lawsuit from upset customers over what they claim is a "noisy and embarrassing squeak."

The class action lawsuit, filed on Oct. 9 in the U.S. District Court of Oregon, alleges that the company's "CloudTec" shoe design causes a "loud, embarrassing and difficult to stop squeaking sound." The On shoes made with CloudTec typically retail between $140 and $180 depending on the style.

On's CloudTec technonolgy features an exterior made up of hexagonal, octangular and ovular shaped holes that form the external landing surface of the shoe.

The lawsuit names 11 different On shoe styles, all made with the CloudTech design.

The customers suing claim they wouldn't have bought the shoes if they had known about the defective squeak.
