MERCER CO., Ill. (KWQC) - A plea hearing is scheduled for Dec. 2 for a Mercer County sheriff’s deputy accused of driving the wrong way down I-74 while intoxicated.
Lewis Andrews, 25, was charged in April with DUI, driving the wrong way down a highway and improper lane usage.
Online court records do not show what charges Andrews will plead to during the December hearing.
TV6 Investigates broke the story of Andrews arrest and obtained dash camera video from Colona Police of the stop and arrest. After viewing the video, TV6 Investigates asked Henry County States Attorney Catherine Runty why Andrews didn’t face an eluding charge. She believes his actions didn’t meet the standard to bring that charge.
