ANN ARBOR, Mich. — It’s never good news when a player goes down during a game and has to be carted off the field.

But two days after Michigan tackle Evan Link suffered a leg injury in Saturday’s 24-7 win over Washington, the Wolverines got some good news on a prognosis.

“It wasn’t as bad as we thought,” Michigan coach Sherrone Moore said, signaling a likely return this year. “I think we’ll have him back sooner than later.”

And while Link is expected back at some point, it won’t be Saturday at in-state rival Michigan State (7:30 p.m., NBC). Moore is already penciling in sophomore Blake Frazier as the starter at left tackle, after Frazier filled in for Link after the injury.
