A 39-year-old woman has been charged with murder in connection with a stabbing Saturday, Oct. 18 in Union County, authorities said.

Erika Hampton, a Union Township resident, was apprehended after Nana Kwadwo Takyi Ankamah, 37, also of Union, was stabbed dead just after 10 p.m. at the Vermella Union Apartments, Union County Prosecutor William Daniel and Union Township Police Director Christopher Donnelly said.

Ankamah was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead, authorities said.

Hampton is charged with murder in the first degree and multiple weapons offenses, authorities said.
